Seven Acres is conveniently located off the A595 between the villages of Gosforth (approx 1/2 mile) and Holmrook, minutes from the sea and next to the mountains of the Western Lakes. In Gosforth you will find shops, pubs and restaurants. Places of interest nearby include Muncaster Castle and Owl Centre, and the Laal Ratty miniature railway.

Accommodation overview: The cottage, previously a clog makers workshop adjoins the owners home, Galloway House, dating back to the 1720’s which until recently was the village pub. Now a cosy 1 bedroom holiday cottage, Galloway Cottage is situated in the village of Crosby, 1 mile from the Cumbrian coast and 2 miles from the harbour town of Maryport. The beach is a fantastic place to walk your dog with views across the Solway to the Scottish Hills. Good food and drink is available at the Stag Inn, within 400 yards. Maryport has a Sea Life Centre, museums, a marina and a selection of shops. The seaside town of Allonby is approximately 4 miles and the spectacular Lake District Park is on the doorstep.

Accommodation overview: Highside Cottage is a converted barn attached to the owners 17th Century farmhouse, situated in Embleton, halfway up Ling Fell at the end of a winding, single track private road. Enjoying 2 acres of grounds and surrounded by open countryside, the property has the advantage of many footpaths close by, including one of Alfred Wainwrights walks, which passes the cottage. Highside Cottage is an idyllic retreat in peaceful surroundings with panoramic views, where glorious sunsets across the Solway Firth to the southern uplands of Scotland can be enjoyed. Famous beauty spots, such as Derwentwater, Loweswater, Buttermere and the Borrowdale Valley are close by, as are the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth.

The railway line was opened in 1861 to carry iron-ore and coal from the nearby mines and in later years carried passengers before closing in 1954.

Accommodation overview: Row Moor Farm is situated close to both Cockermouth and Maryport, between the Lake District Fells and the Solway Coast. Each of which are within a few minutes drive. You may enjoy gentle walks along the beach or choose more strenuous mountain walks. Cockermouth is famous as the birth place for William Wordsworth but has many other attractions, including The Sheep and Wool Centre, numerous art galleries, the Kirkgate Arts Centre and a good selection of Restaurants, Shops and Pubs. At Maryport there is the Harbour, Maritime museum and Aquarium of the Lakes. The border City of Carlisle is within 30 minutes drive. Barn Cottage and Loft Cottage are adjoining each other on a working farm, next to the owners house.They may be let separately or together for up to 11 people.

Gilcrux is close to the Gem town of Cockermouth, 4 miles from the sandy beach at Allonby and 4 miles from the Lake District National Park.

Accommodation overview: Shoremeadow, extensively refurbished for 2011, is set 150 metres from a beautiful, secluded sandy beach and enjoys a idyllic position in this tranquil south western corner of the Lakes where the mountains meet the sea.The cottage is a two minute drive from the peaceful village of Silecroft. It has stunning westerly views over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man and easterly views to Blackcoombe Fell. The beach extends for miles in both directions and is perfect for dog walking, lazy days building sand castles or taking to the sea for fishing.
