There are shops, pubs and restaurant here as well as at Leiston approximately 2 miles away. The area has something for everyone - for birdwatchers there's the RSPB reserve at Minsmere, North Warren and Havergate Island, 18-hole golf courses at Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Woodbridge, boating, tennis at Thorpeness and sailing at Aldeburgh. Just 50 yards from the beach, and next door to the owner, Ilex House is semi-detached. Parts of the property date back to the1830's.
